the society abandoned its anti-vaccination beliefs, partly.
because they didn't wish to expend their resources defending.
such ideas.. this could happen again with the blood transfusion issue.. the exposure of suppressed child sexual abuse within the organization.
I hope you are correct, Met.

i'm pretty sure this question has probably been asked before but i'd like to put it out here and see what the responses are.
my doubts about the bible probably began maybe 6 or 7 years ago, they were very small ones however and i managed to supress them for quite a while.
however certain events in my life would make those events resurface.
Yes, partly, no.

as most of you know, neil and i have been engaged for about two weeks now.
i was surprised and thrilled to hear him ask and am looking forward to spending my life with my best friend.
for those of you who don't know neil personally, he's really the best thing to ever happen to me!
Andi said: “I'm really working hard not to focus TOO much on the day. Did that the first time: Beautiful wedding, crappy marriage. I'm trying to remember that the wedding day is to be special, but it's the 20K or so days after that that really matter.”
Truer words were never spoken. Andi, you show maturity beyond your years. Experience helps, doesn’t it? My first marriage (to a JW) was also crappy, but I have benefited form that experience. Sounds like you are enjoying the same.
It is a shame that your dad did not call you in person. My guess is that he preferred not “facing” you on the phone, so took the easier route to contact you. Nevertheless, if your conversation is now more civil, perhaps future contacts will gradually become even better. Let’s hope so.
Andi, I regret never having met you, or Neil. Perhaps one day…

i've been a member of this board since summer of last year.
i'm also a member of several jw groups on yahoo.
i love posting stories on the pedophilia scandal or the un stuff just to see what everyone else says.
Andi, Hilda proves your point very well, doesn't he?

it won't be easy ever agian to get a program to air our stuff if we advertise that we're taking money away from them.. hugs to all of you who are...uh.... .
before you try and remove the stick from my arse, remove the telephone pole from your own arse..
Excellent point DB, bttt
as i sit back and watch the pedophilia scandal unfold, it occurs to me that someone connected to the watchtower got it right - they prophesied what we are seeing.
my friend jim penton in "apocalypse delayed" wrote about the impact of "brain drain" on the organization.
no organization can afford to continually lose its brightest members, yet that is exactly what the wts has done for years.. what is the price of this constant "dumbing down"?
Excellent idea, Lee. I am making my list of a dozen or so and will forward the Dateline info promptly.
Brain drain? You bet!

What were the original “charges?” Is this in anyway double jeopardy?
